Mayo of Mitchell had the misfortune to lose his pocketbook, containing $800 in money, while in Camilla on last Wednesday. Rev. T. H. Gibson, who h»s serv ed the Lexington circuit for tho past two years, goes to the asylum at Milledfjeville as a chaplain. A Camilla preacher was seen to board the train a few days ago with a cat in a wallet and a bundle of goat hides for baggage. The brick work of tbe cotton facto ry at Newnan will be completed in about ten days, and it will then be ready for the roof. On Siturday morning last J. M. Williams and Mark Hansford, two young men who live near Bonetown, picked 350 pounds of cottcn in four hours, A new factory for manufacture of tubs, buckets, barrels, etc., with $40, 000 capital is among tbe probabili tics at Brunswick. A surd, door and blind manufactory is also on the tapis. Near Watkinsville, Wednesday, D. B. Jackson, a county commission er of Oconee, was feeding his gin, and in some way his baud was caught and bady mangled. It is feared that the arm would havo to be amputated. Albert Ileese,’ a well known colored man of the community, was arrested last Wednesday Dight for breaking opun C. E Smith’s distillery ware house at Newnan; and as he was caught in tbe act it is apt to go pret ty bard with trim. Last week it was stated that it was rumored on the streets at Wat kinsville that the court l oose would not be accepted, but the rumor prov ed to be false and the county com missioueis met the contractor and architect on Monday last and accept ed the building. Kin Simmons, who possesses a hallucination that a kinsman in England has left him $18,000,000, was in Buena Vista a day or two ago.
