Full Proceedings of the Democratic Exeutive Committee Meeting Yesterday. Pursuant to a call of the chairman' the Democratic Executive Committee of Spalding County met at the court house at 12 o’clock Saturday, November 10th, 1888. Twenty six out of the twenty seven members were represented either in person or by proxy. The meeting was called to order by Chair-nan Maiaier, who appointed Douglas Glessner secretary and W. E. H. Searcy assistant secretary. W. B. Hudson withdrew his resig nation, tendered at the previous meet ing, and on motion of J. H, Powell the withdrawal was accepted. The secretary then read the fol lowing resolutions, the names of the managers being loft blank but afier wards filled in by the committeemen of the respectiva districts: Resolved, first, That the Democrat ie party of the county of Spalding hold u primary election for the selec¬ tion of candiditos for the ouaty officers, (owit: a sheriff, a clerk, an ordinary, a coroner, a contsty survey or, a tax collector, a tax receiver aod a county treasurer. Resolved, second, That said elec tiou be held at the usual plnco of holding election in each precinct in the county, and conducted nuder the same rulep as Stato elections are con dueled. Resolved, third, That only known Democrats bo allowed to vote, and that each voter vote in his own pre ciuct. Resolved, fourth, That the election be held on the 20th day of Novem bor, 1888,and that tho managers meet the 21st day of November, 1888, at the court house at 12 o’clock aod con solidate the vote, and the candidate receiving the highest uumber of legal votes shall be declared by the man agers the nom,nee of (he Democratic party for the eounty of Spalding. Resolved, fifth, That should any one or two managers fail to serve, thoso acting for the district in which tho vacancy occurs shall fill such va emey or vacancies; should all de cline to serve in any district the members of the Executive Commit tee in that district shall fill the vacan cies. Ogletree, Whereas. an allw : se Providence has seen fit in the furtherance of His work on earth to remove from our midst a beloved citizen and upright man, and our member of the legisla tore: while our hearts are sod and our minds depressed at this sad cslam ty, yet it is our duty to fill said vacancy in the legislature; Wherefore, be it resolved that the Democratic party of Spalding county select & candidate to fill the vacancy cmnsed by the death of Hon. N. M. Coitens by primary election, and that said primary election be held on the 20th day cf Nov. 1888, under the same rules and at the same time and place as the election for county off- ficers; and that returns be made and result declared in the same manner. On motion cf R. H. Johnson the resolutions w*re adopted. On motion of W. B. Hudson four¬ teen was made a quoram for future meetings of the committee. Ou motion of W. B. Hudson, Loyd Cleveland was made vice chair man. Oa motion ot W. B. Hudson, the place of bolding the election was re considered so far as Griffin was con cerned, and it was decided to hold the same at the Greys Armory.
