Williap Shirey died Saturday
night, and was buried Sunday even¬
ing. The funeral cortege was very
large, which attested the esteem la
which he was held by the people of
this community. Mr. Shirey was
nearly ninety ^years old, and has
been a citizen of this county for over
sixty years. He had been a consis-
tent member of the Baptist church
a long time; although very quiet to
manner, be had by his well known
honesty of purpose and consistent
manner endeared himself to every
body. He died as he had lived, with
out an enemy. He leaves an aged
wife, and a host of friends, to mourn
his loss.
