Ws have a splendid school at this
place conducted by Profs. Patterson
and Walker. They wffl hare nt
the house was called to order by
Supt. Lyster, and the exercises were
opened by song; tben they had sever¬
al recitations by the young ladies,
and after they were through Robert
A. Barfield was called to the floor,
and he delivered one of the finest
speeches we ever heard on such an
occasion; and to add to the above
we were afterward invited to dinner
with him, and such a dinner as the
ladies had prepared is no little trou¬
ble to find, we can’t help thinking it
was one among the best we have
ever eaten. We are under many
obligations to the people of that
neighborhood.
