Several persons have seen an alli¬
gator in the canal near the council
chamber at Brunswick, and Monday
a little boy, who was playing on the
bank, gave a yeH and run screaming
up the street. When questioned as
to the cause of its terror, the boy
which he went home, got out his
razor and was in the act of drawing
it across his throat. His mother,
however, happened to be near, and
prevented him from carrying out his
purpose. Before the razor was
taken away he cut a deep gash in his
hand.

Tuesday morning. About I o’clock
the store of N, A. Morse was seen tq

The fire had made considerable pro¬

He came out to find the fire making
rapid progress toward where he had
been in bed. Men rushed to thefront
tjoop of the store and found it open.
Evidently the store had been robbed

but a box of tobacco. It is thought
