A Man'eh firm has made a carriage
propelled by gas, which it generates
beuring or analagous material.
The motor, which & not visible from
the outside, is placed in the rear of
the three wheeled carriage over the
main axle, and the becang used in
its propulsion is carried in a closed
’tv ,
drop to the generator
bolds enough benring for a journey
of about seyenty-ttve miles. The gas
mixture is igr'ted in a closed cylin¬
der by means of an electric spark.
After regulates tbs admission ofthe
gas, tbs motor can be started by
simply iurc'ng a hand lever. Power
is applied by the medium of a Jink
oh ft in belted to a toothed wheel on
the rear ar’e. The Speed ol the
motor can be increased or diminished
at wH by tarring the lever back ward
or forward, and It can be stopped by
pulling on tbe lever. The vehicle Is
steered in the same maner as
trlcyde, by a small front wheel. It
attains a speed of ten m^es an hour
but in crowded streets it can be
mads to move as slowly as an ordi¬
nary vehicle. A quart of benzine is
sufficient for an hour’s trip.
