Several gentlemen of this city in
tent on getting to Atlanta at a very
early hour yesterday morning took
passage on the accommodation as
the fast mail was behind. When they
reached the tia. Midland crossing,
they saw the fast mail approaching
the depot and left the train they were
on to wait at the crossing for that
train, but as the fast train stopped
some distance below the crossing they
did not get on and were left until the
midday train. Getting left did not
pat them in any better humor than
they were.

Miss Nellie Sharpe, of Atlanta, is in¬

manner a little of all the va¬
rious things which every person is
interested in and must learn. The
illustrations are copious and beauti¬
ful. Miss Sharpe leaves Griffin on
Thursday and will gladly call upon
any one leaving address at the
Hotel Curtis, who may desire to ex¬
amine the book. It would make a
very acceptable present to be order¬
ed for the approaching holidays.
