An English Medical Authority
affirms that thebest regimen for pre¬
serving health may be summed up in
the maxim, "keep the head cool, the
feet warm the bowels active.”
There is a world of wisdom ia the ob¬
servation. Obstinate constipation,
or costiveness, is an exciting with caus-
of other diseases; and, many
persons of sedentary habits, or occu¬
pations, this inaction of the bowels
is a source of constant annoyance,
producing fistula,.and piles, prolapse various of dyspeptic the rec¬
tum,
symptoms. All these Are warded off,
and health is maintained, by the use
of Dr. Pirce’s Pleasant Purgative
Pellet*. - r- f

Tne Apron Party.
The apron party at Capt. TV. J.
Kincaid's on Monday night was very
successful not only in the attendance
but in enjoyment and in the tasteful
and artistic display of useful and
dainty aprons.
Each young lady brought an un¬
hemmed apron and a scarf tie of
simila r material and the young men
drew for them. They were obliged
each to hem the apron drawn and
the one doing the neatest job got a
prize, as well aB the poorest hemmer.
The first prize was a fairy lamp and
was awarded to Allen Bates, while
Will Brown took the second prize, a
pair of garters. The prizes were
presented by Col. T. R. Mills in an
appropriate speech enlarging mainly
upon the first apron party as de¬
scribed in Genesis.
The aprons were then auctioned
off, bringing from 85 cents to $6.00,
the last being for a very beautiful
hand painted afiair by Miss Mallory.
The proceeds of the auction were
$28.49, making with the gate money
an aggregate of over $35—all for
the Baptist church windows.
Refreshments w*re served later,
and altogether a very pleasant even¬
ing was spent.
A yote for Kincaid today
is a vote for tUe progress
of Griffin
The young men should
all support Kincaid today.

too old, t^make a good al¬
