Mr. and Mrs. J. F Sutton and
Mrs. Hr.. Sutton returned to their
homes at Woodbury yesterday, af¬
ter a short visit to relatives in this
city.
Jerry Humphreys, colored, was
convicted in County Court yesterday
of stealing 700 pounds of seed cot¬
ton from John H. Mitchell, and fined
$75 or twelve months in the chain-
gang. He stole his cotton from
Crete Manley last year and was con¬
victed in Superior Court at the Feb¬
ruary term, but paid out.
After a career ol cheek and fraud
in this city and Atlanta covering
several years, young S. G. Leak was
convicted in the Atlanta city court
on Tuesday of stealing add fraudu¬
lently carrying off a piece of furniture
and sentenced to one year in the
chaingang. He ought to have gone
there long ago.
