Baltimore, Dec. 11 .—The Furness
line of steamers, one of the most im¬
portant lines plying between Baltimore
and Europe, will by force of circum¬
stances, transfer their business from
litre to Newport News, Va., and thus
divert no inconsiderable amount of
western commerce, grain shipments in
particular, to the latter port, Fite cause
of the change lies in the fact that the
Furness line has been deprived of dock
privileges. ________
