Judge A. J. Hinton passed through

the Macon & Birmingham R. R.

survey has missed the town. We
trust they will be successful in get¬
ting the road through without a
greater expense to the road or city.
The town of Greenville has secured
the services of Capt. Tutwiler, of
Griffin, to make the preliminary sue--
vey. The captain is by no means
a stranger in Woodbury, as he lived
here for years and taught school
here. We are glad they have secured
the services of such n competent
man to make the survey, because we
know that if the railroad can be car¬
ried to Greenville he can do it
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Moore, who
have been spending some time with
the former’s parents near Upatoia,
Ga., returned to their home here on
last Monday.
Miss Sallie Gaston, of Greeuville,
who has been visiting Miss Annie
Harris, of Griffin, returned to Wood¬
bury on her way home, an d is spend¬
ing several days as the guest of her
uncle W. S. Williamson.
Miss Annie Harris, one of Griffin’s
most accomplished daughters, is on
visit to Mr. W. S. Williamson.
Miss Annie is accompanying her
cousin, Miss Sallie Gaston home,
where she goes to spend several
weeks.
Mrs. Mary E. McLendon, of this
city.took the up train for Griffin this
morning, where she goes to spend a
few days as the guest of her sister,
Mrs. W. L. Ison, and other frfends of
that city.

The ladies of the Ladies Aid So¬
ciety are making great preparations
for a festival to be given at the Find¬
lay House on next Friday. The
festival will be given for the purpose
of raising money for the benefit of
building a new Missionary Baptist
church here. All are invited to at¬
tend, and boys if you don’t bring
along a little change, you will feel
badly to see the others enjoy them¬
selves and you take a back seat. All
come out and help in a good cause.
Preparations are being made to
build several handsome residence and
a twenty room hotel here at an early
date.
