Terrible Resultf of a Pacific. Smash-Up ou the
Georgia
Birmingham, Marcu 14.—A bad
accident occurred on the Georgia
Pacific railroad, about eighteen
miles from Birmingham yesterday
afternoon, caused by a car wheel
breaking, which derailed the train, a
freight.
The smash-up occurred on a trestle
which was broken. Five cars and
the caboose went off the rails, the
engine getting over safely. All the
wrecked cars took fire and burned,
together with the trestle. _

w'reck. Conductor Martin’s shoulder
was badly sprained; Wesley Salters,
a negro brakesman, wawburt im
