Atkinson In Henry County.
Several gentlemen from Henry
County yesterday all gave it as their
opinion that the county would go
for Atkinson. Tbe Weekly yesterday
contained the following items:
“According to announcement, Hon.
W. Y. Atkinson filled bis appoint-
ment in McDooough last Tuesday.
As f be court house was as full as
it would hold, even to standing
room, the Weekly prefers to leave
comment upon the speeah to the
people wbo heard it from all sec¬
tions of tbe coonty. Our candH
opinion is that it was tbe finest po¬
litical speech we ever beard in Henry
county, and we are perfectly willing
to leave the verdict with people.”
“Dr. L. A. Folsom, the original
Atkioson man of Hampton, came
over Tuesday to bear thespeecb.and
returned home chuck full ot renewed
enthusiasm for his man. He is not
alone, however, having recently gaiu-
ed some good company over there.”
. “Locust Grove sent up a good del¬
egation from that Atkinson stroog-
hold to hear the speech, while Stock-
bridge was also well represnted. Id
fact, every section of tbe county was
on hand.”
