cording to Baneale the men went to
him a short time ago and demanded

give them the money. H© paid no at.

In a few days he received another
notification' that he must pay *25 at
least.
.Saturday night the men called again
and declared that they must have *5

matter would be considered later. Ban-
cale told the men that he had banked
all hl» ready money except a little
change, but he would borrow the
money If they would return in & cou¬
ple of hours.
Waiting until they had taken their
departure and observing that no watch
had been placed upon his house, Ban
cale hurried to the police station and
told the sergeant on duty of the
threats that had been made against
him.
Two defectives were assigned to as¬
sist Baneale in trying to ensnare the
men. They returned to Bancale’6
house and he was given a marked *5
bill.

detectives followed and arrested them
in a grocery store.

arraigned, Jmt they denied that the
weapons of'the money bad ever been
seen by any of them before.
