A Wet, Stormy Month, is
Prediction For August.
Mr. Editor, as my predictions
are of much interest to the farmers,
I feel it is my duty to m«ke a pro
diction on the weather for August,
as my monthly predictions have hit
so well during the last three months.
I predicted May wrould be wet and
stormy and so it was. I predicted
June would be a wet mon>h and so
it was. 1 predicted July would be
dry and hot and so it was, and now
1 predict August will be we* and
storing. Now let ua watch and see.
According to my signs August
will be a wet month. Ib rained the
first dog day in Griffin and was a
trash mover, followed by a terrific
thunder storm, which was an eye
opener, and the farmers can look
out for an abundance of rain during
the dog days. Dark, dangerous
looking ccuds will rise in tho south
and east and lightning will flash
and thunder roll and old Georgia
soil will bo thoroughly drenched in
rain.
From the 7th to the 10th a
storm will form over the West Gulf
States, moving eastward, causing
violent thunder and ruin. Tho
storm will move up tho Atlantic
coast, causing heavy rains in its
track. The sailors on the South
Atlantic and Gulf States cm look
out for the West India hurricane
the last week of August, as there
are some dangerous storm periods
the latter part.
Now stop grumbling and do the
best you can and get ready to pull
that fodder and pick that ton cent
cotton.
