PASSES GEDHGIJ HOUS!
It Mill Now Be Returned to the Sen
ate for Concurrent Action on
the Amended Bill.
Atlanta, July 19.—After a few mi
nor amendments making the bill ap
plicable to strikers, broadening the
ages to which it shal be applicable,'
and providing that its operation shall
not interfere with students in college
or those engaged in vocational work,
the much talked of “work or fight”
bill passed the Georgia house of rep
resentatives yesterday by a large ma
jority. It wil now be returned to the |
senate for concurrent action on the
amendmended bill; and as there is but
little difference between it and the [
original bill by the senate it will
doubtless soon become a law.
This bill is but one of several
measures intended to aid in the war
needs of the day; and, in recognition
of the attitude of the Georgia assem
bly and in thanks for a resolution en
dorsing the war policies on the first
day of the session, Woodrow Wilson
has sent a personal greeting to the
assembly.
This letter was read yesterday in
both branches of the legislature.
Besides the work or light bill, the
most interesting bill under considera
