He Did Not Adwcrtlac.
A nervous looking man went into
a store the other day and sat down
for half an hour or so, when a clerk
asked if there was anything he
could do for him. He said he didn’t
want anything. He went away and
he sat there half an hour longer
when the proprietor went to him
and asked if he wanted to be shown
anything. “No,” said the nervous
man. “I just wanted to sit around.
My physician has recommended
perfect quiet for me, and says
above ail things I must avoid being
in crowds. Noticing that you did
not advertise in the newspapers, I
thought that this would be as quiot
a place as I could And, so I just
dropped in for a few hours of com
plete isolation. The merchant pick
ed up a bolt of paper cambric to
brain him, but the man went. He
said all lie wanted was quiet life.

Cotton Stil Oil H1U.
Wo notice that Thomasboro is
making an cflort to secure the erec
tion of a cotton seed oil mill. Why
would it not bo a good idea for
the people of Americus to make a
similar cflort ? Such a mill would
prove a profitable Investment, for
tbo oil is being used for so many
purposes that the demand is in
creasing. A few such manufacto
ries would greatly improve the
trade and prosperity of our city
and county.
