It is better for biscuit and frying purposes than lard, not scorching so easily; it is as good as butter for cakes. Wo. know many of the lirst families of this city who are using it, nnd think it far better than lard. It is much cheaper. The wholesale price by the barrel is only fifty cents per gallon; retail price, from seventy to seventy-live edits per gallon or ten cents per pound. One pound goes farther than a pound of lard. These are seven and one half pounds of oil in a gallon, anil at seventy-live cents per gallon, it would he ten cents per pound. Lard is fourlocn cents per pound. As I wo-liiinls of a pound of oil is quivnlcnt to a pound of lard it is clone that the oil is from four t* five cents cheaper per pound than laid and a thousand limes more wholesome. A very line quality of this oil, so cheap and excellent lin king purposes, can he obtained at any of the cotton seed oil mills.
