morning, near Audersonville, tearing up
the track for a long distance and delaying
the South bound passenger train until

City Marshall Lingo has a monopoly
on the piggy business. No more driving
pigs for him. He takes a pocketful of

Fires.
On Saturday uight, the 4th inst., the
residence of I)r. Westbrook, in Andor-
sonville, was entirely destroyed by fire,
as well as tho furniture it contained.
Loss about $2,000, on which Ihcro was
insurance to the amouut of $1,000.
Sunday evening, the5th inst., the burn
of Z. S. Bnisdun, in Sehley county, was
destroyed by fire. The bain contained
10,000 lbs of fodder, 400 bushels of cot
ton seed, some corn und a buggy be
longing to Mr. Livingstone. The loss
is estimated at $500, and there was no
insurance.

A Flock of Wild Geese.
A (lock of these beautiful fowls have
been straying around the suburbs for
the past few days. One of their number
was killed by a sportsman and tho rest
seemed loath to leavo tho neighborhood
without their lost brother—and “thereby
hangs a talc." A remarkable intlucnce
of perfect self control was exercised by
a citizen of Loeton, in whose field theso
birds had nlighted. Almost wild with
excitement he secured a gun and raced
and character sketches all foi 25 cents.

work in aiding the members to provide
good home', It would doubtless sur
prise many of our people if thoy knew to
what extent theso associations have con
tributed to the building of the large
number of new houses that have gone
