a discussion of mcie words. It is
content tbat ita defense of Schley’s
rights has brought to a limit those
who sought to defraud her of
them. It is unnecessary to name
tbe parties, for they arc generally
known and their motives under

personal lights to make—it battles
for principles, rather than men. it
was not the Recorder who “preci

who sought to abolish the rotation
system and defraud Schley of her

assume all responsibility for all it
has done in the matter and has no
apologies to make. It is so anxious
about the trade of Atnericus that)

A UOUU NOMINATION.
The nomination by acclamation
of Judge Crisp for a second term
in Congress Is a rare and yet de
served compliment to tbat genlle-
mau. As a aew member Judge
Crisp has mado an exceptionally
brilliaut record, one of which his
constituents justly feel proud, and
his unanimous ro-nomiuation was a
fitting tributo to a faithful and able
representative. As he had no
opposition in convention, be will
doubtless meet with no opposition
in bis election. The people of the
Third District wilt for tbo next two
years have a representative in Con
gress who will reflect honor upon
them and make for bimscll more
than a local reputation as a pure
and progressive statesman.
