They are a most excellent fabric for blo.ses, jackets, blazers, etc. The prices range from 50 to 75c yd. and the width is 32 inches. One advan tage they possess is their excellence for washing. Black Muslins. Although early in the season we have opened a line of these the styles of which are not to be surpassed. They commence at 10c yd for fast ikt blacks (sold last season at 15c) and run up to 50c yd. These finer goods look almost equal to silks. White k Colored Cotton Goods Wheatley & Ansley. Mrs. Laura Htllbron, of Birmingham, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mr*. S. M. Cohen. Judge D. B. Harrell, came over from Blobiand yesterday and epent the day in tbe city. Mr. F. H. Joe Walker, a negro train hand at the 8. A. A M. happened tu a painful and serious accident Thursday night at 11 o'clock. He vra* coupling ears, and as he at tempted to drop the pin his, left arm was caught between the dead bumpers. From the wriat to abovo the elbow the arm was crushed to a jelly. The bones were smashed to atoms and all the tisane devitalized. Dr. C. A. Brooks was called In, and proceeded to dress the wounded member and place the negro In as com fortable a position as possible. Yesterday morning he called again, and seeing that it was impossible to save the arm, he out it off just above tbe elbow. Be was assisted in this by I)rs. Fort and Eldridge, and the job was neat ly and skilfully done. The negro at last reports was resting easily. Americas* Territory. Americus hat always had a very largo territory depending on the city for goods, and this is dally being increased. The territory of other cities is being in vaded, and Americus firms are selling goods ail over the country. Tbe Amer icus Supply Company, successors to Har ris A Payne, is among our most prosper ous firms, and recently some sales have been made which show the enterprise and push of the young men composing the company. In Cordele, Albany and other neighbors several stovos have been sold, and even in Macon two largo ranges were placed last week. How I was Cored of So-Csllsd Cancer. Lulatox, GA. Officer Feagin arrested a negro named Joe Jones Thursday night. Jones has been wanted here since Marcli 12th, on whieh date, it is claimed, he severely beat his wife. A warrant was sworn out against him for wife beating, and the trial will take place Monday. Messrs. James England and W. B. SrColeman, prominent citlsen* of Utica, N. L, are In the city for a few days, guests of the latter’s brother, Mr, O. A. Coleman, in Lee ton. To Speak In Kansas city. Judge C. F.
