James Smith and Uiss Lou Smith spent yesterday in Macon. Col. C. M. Wheatley left yesterday on a business trip to Thomasville. Ur. T. M. Furlow, of Jackson, is spending a few days in the city. Ur. It. R.' Johnson returned yesterday from a business trip to Ellaville. Mrs. Troup Butler, of Atlanta, is visit ing Mrs. S. L. Maxwell, 234 Taylor street Dr. and Mrs. J. M. Whittaker, of Mil- ledgeville, are visiting the former's sis ter, Mrs. J. E. Bivins. Mr. A. R. Coulter left yesterday for Asheville, N. C., on account of his health. Doctor Carrol accompanied him. Mrs. M. McGarrah and daughter, Miss Bertha, of Friendship, were in Araeri- cus yesterday on a shopping tour. Mr. L. J. Maxwell, manager of the W. U. Telegraph office in Savannah, has been visiting his brother, agent Max well, of the Central. Miss Emily Hornady left yesterday for Sumter city, to be present at the mar riage of Misa Mamie Rodgers and Dr. Mallory at that place to-day. Judge W. H. Kimbrough and Judge J. A. . Ansley returned yesterday from Ella ville, where they have been attending court Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Thompson and Miss Eula Coker left yesterday for Smlthville, at which place Mr. Kemble and Miss Thompson will be united in marriage to-day. Miss Thompson is a sister of Mr. A. S. Thompson and baa many friends here. Blood Diseases. Clegg Hose Company held a meeting last night, and decided to take in the excursion to Omaha on May 7th. Tim Killenand Shelby Myrick were elected a committee to see about badges for the company on that occasion. The following officers were elected: Tom Bell, foreman; Tim Killen, assis tant foreman: Arthur Williford, hoso di rector; Jim y.all, assistant hose director; Carl Glover, treasurer; Perry Clegg, secretary.
