A countryman living a few miles from the city reports killing a mad dog last week. How about Americus' dog law? A largo serenading party went the rounds last night, and delighted many an appreciative ear with their sweet music. The revival at the Second Methodist church is attracting great attention and interest. It will probably bo continued for some time, Picnlcers and Ushers arc now in the swim, and the festive little vcrmilllon insect laughs in great glee as he cries that lie, too, Is in it. In a few days there will he raffled at “Oak Hall” tho finest and costliest mu sic box ever brought to Americus. For particulars enquire on the promises. The Americus base ball club has ac cepted a challenge to play Montezuma at that place next Friday. Quite a party will probably attend from Americus. Next Monday will be observed as Me morial day. Everybody should lend c helping band to the ladles, and do ev erything to make the exercises a grand success. It is the first and greatest of the three annual feasts instituted by Moses. It was celebrated on the annlvenary of the exodus from Egypt on the 14th day of Nlsan, otherwise called Abib, the period of tho first full moon in the spring, and lasted eight days. In commemoration of the Incidents connected with the great event of the liberation of the people it was - ordained that unleavened bread only ahouid be eaten during this period.
