There it* no town or city in Georgia that has a brighter future before it than the now and growing little city of Omaha, built by the Omaha Construc tion Company, of which Mr. P. C. Clegg 1a tho-moving spirit, and this is snfllcient guarantee that it will continue to grow. They have a uice large brick and wood hotel completed, several new stores, streets cut out and graded and a fine crystal spring that will supply a city twice the bIzo with water. So the people who purchase lots ar.d locate at this growing city will always have plen ty of the very best to drink. There will soon be a largo school building and church orected, and ar rangements arc being made to start up several manufacturing enterprises. They have a line brick yard near by, and will bo able to furnish to those building the cheapest and best brick of any city in the country. The Order of Hallway Conductors will offer a line opportunity on Thursday, May 7th, for everybody to see this little city by the Chattahoochee. They will give a grand excursion from Americus to Omaha aud return for the nominal sum of one dollar, and every body should avail themselves of this op portunity to enjoy a May holiday on the banks of the Chattahoochee. # The excursion will be under the au spices of the Order of Hail way Conduc tors, the proceeds of which will bo used to aid the conductors on the S. A. M. railroad to organize a division at Americus. Everybody is cordially invited to join in this holiday excursion and carry well filled baskets. The people at Omaha and vicinity will join with the excur sion party in picnic on that day. There will be a tine band of music and Ice cold refreshments on the grounds, ami every thing possible done to make it one of the moat delightful occasions of the sea son. The committee of arrangements say that every conductor will bo ready to asslsttbe ladies and children without escorts, and will look after their welfare while cn route and also at the picnic. Come out op that day and aid a good cause and enjoy a merry holiday. I'EltSONALK. Capt J. J. McCall, of Cordele, was in the city a short while yesterday. Miss Florence Ilollis has returned home,after a pleasant visit to relatives in Atlauta. Mrs. A. T. Maxwell and her little son, Louis, left yesterday for a week’s visit to relatives In Talbotton. Dr. J. M. H. Westbrook, is out of the city for a week or two recuperating. It is hoped by Ids many friends that he will return fully restored to health. There should be 1,000 children at the library at 3 o’clock to-morrow after noon. They should all have flowers who can possibly get them. All the children in the city should be on hand.
