The new factory of the Americas ReJ frigerating Company will, It is thought, ba ready to begin operation today. The factory ta well equipped, and haa a capacity of twenty ton* of lea per day. The loe cream festival given by the “Willing Workers,” In the Methodist church yard yesterday afternoon, proved a most enjoyable affair. A neat sum was realized, which will go toward building a new house of worship. Pineapples are iu market now and are not too high for the housekeeper’s purse. They are large and fine and sell at a quarter each. Home-raised strawberries are the fruit now, though, and will soon be plentiful at twenty-five cents a quart. Messrs. Tom Baisden and L. G. Hud aon are completing three very pretty dwelling houses on McGarreh street, next to tha -property of Capt J. L. Ad- derton. Engineer George Nix, who dropped his fine gold watoh from hla pocket while coming to Americus from Omaha Thursday, was made very happy yester day. A negro woman living near Bleb- land found tho tloker by the aide of the track, where It had dropped from the engine, and returned It to Mr. Nix.
