THE AMERICUS DAILY TIMES-RECORDER: SATURDAY, MAY 23, 1891.
Getting Down Stein.
Some things are expected to get nwny
up to eonatitute a success, but not so in
malting lee, for In that Interesting pro
cess the lower the scale the finer the
music.
Amerlcus does all that she goes at
“jamb up,” and so her ice factory is
coming up to the record with a lower
temperature by eight to ten degrees than
any factory In the state is able to main
tain.
For several days Vr. Geo. B. Hall, the
artist in charge, has been keeping the
temperature of the machine down to
zero and below, and this is why The
Tiues-Recobder was the recipient yes
terday of a 100 pound hunk of coolness
with the following card attached:
Compliments of the Amerlcus Ice Company
to Th* Times-Recokdsb:
We present you with 100 pounds of Ice
made at a temperature of aero. Somethin!
you have probably neser teen before, and
something we hope wilt keep the boys cool
for several hot, sultry days.
W. C. Guar, Bort’y and Tree’r.
A Reliable Firm.
Attention is called to the new adve-
tisement of Hawkins A Loving, which
appears in this issue of The Tiues-Re-
roitDER. This firm handles furniture,
crockery, pictures and picture frames,
lamp goods, window shades, and in
fact everything found in a strictly first-
class furniture establishment They
also carry a full line of coffins and me
tallic cases, and are prepared to serve
the public at short notice when their
servioes are required. Both are enter
prising and reliable young business
men and deserve the success that has
heretofore attended them.

The Ball Game l'eiterday.
A large crowd went out to the city
ball grounds yesterday afternoon to wit
ness a match game between the Ameri-
cus boys and Capt. Fred Houser's gal
lant nine from Perry.
It was diamond cut diamond for a
long time, but finally the Amerlcus boys
were victorious, making a score of eigh
teen to twelve.
Amerlcus has some champion base
ball players. They claim the best pitch
er of his age and experience in all south
