Oh that ail infidels and skeptics could
witness the scenes that surround the
death-beds of such a servant of God. It
seems to its they would bo fully persuad
ed that the “Curtain will surely Rise,”
aud that to the Christian it rDos upon a
glorious eternity, never to fall again.
She was an active member of tho
Methodist church and did a noble work
both in the church and Sunday school.
She possessed especial talent for in
structing children and the m >st touch
ing scene of her death-bed was when
her little Sunday school class would
come with tearful eyes to bid their
loving teacher a last adieu. She would
often ask them to sing to her the old
Sunday school songs, but in tho effort
their little hearts would break down in
grief and they would have to depart
from her in silenco.
Sister West did not confine her Christ
ian work to children alone, but many
grown people all over tho country point
to her as their guiding star to tho “Lamb
of God that taketh away the sins of tiie
world.”
To the loved ones mourning her death
we would say: Let not your heart bo
troubled; yon bollovo In God, believe
also in his son Jesus Christ, and then
when life’s ocean wave shall have fallen
asleep on eternity’s peaceful bosom, you
will meet her in that house “not made
by bands, eternal and in tli/> heavens.”
She is gone; gone forever from earth
but she is gone to a far bolter realm,
there !o live a life of joy and peaco
forever.
Live on, swent ,q tint, live on,
tong h.h time shall hue.
Enjoy tl.e petce by earth unkmvon,
