CURES SYPHILIS
Tolling a Boll for a Dead Dog.
Tho citizens of Woodruff, 8. C., were
startled by the tolling of tho Baptist
church boll, and upon inquiry could not
leaita the cause of it. Various rumors
wpre set afloat as to why it should be
rung, but no one could give a satisfac
tory reason. .After hesitating a good
while some ono, with more nerve than
the others, entered the belfry and found
a young white boy, named James Dar
win, tolling away as solemnly os those*,
ton would for a funeral. He was asked
why he was doing so, and big reply was;
“That his father's dog had just died, and
he had instructed him to go and toll the
bell to announce the sad news to the citi
zens of the town."—New York Commer

take advantage of this remedy is cer

There is a wholesome kernel of truth
inside the rough shell of this ungallant
speech. The “Favorite Prescription” is
invaluable in all utorino Doubles, in
flammations, ulcerations, displacements,
nervous disorders, prostration, exhaus
tion, or hysteria. For run-down, worn-
out women, no more strengthening tonic
or nervine is known.
