Cutts has weathered the legislative storm and is at home among his friends. Mrs. Raymond Rees and daughters returned home from north Georgia last Friday night. Mr. Sid Kelson, conductor on the S. A. M. road, is out again after several days' sickness. Mr. and Mrs. Sirnno Hardy of Savan nah are visiting the family of Mr. J. S, Miers on Spring street. Hansford left this morning for Box Springs, Ga., where he will spend a week with relatives and friends fj Vice-President W. A. Wilson, of the State Alliance, was in the city yesterday, receiving the congratulations of his friends. Mr. Lynn Fort, the popular and hand some young druggist, will spend to-day in Lumpkin with his many friends and relatives. SHAW Miss Mittie Morton, a popular young lady of Lumpkin, returned to her home yesterday after a pleasant visit to Mrs, W. C. Me Lane. Miss Mamie Harrison, who has been I visiting Miss Fannie Campbell in this city, returned to her home in Harris county yesterday. Miss Cora Miers has 1 returned home from an extended stay at White Sulphur Springs, Fla. Her many friends gladly welcome her back. Col. E. A. Cutts returned yesterday from a business trip to Abbeville. He was delayed over night by the wreck on the S. A. M. railroad. Mrs. S. M. Hollis, after a week’s pleasant visit in the city, left yesterday for her home in Buena Vista, accom panied by Miss Susie Taylor. Mr. E. Runion, late with the S. A. M. of this city, left yesterday for Macon, where he has accepted the position of train dispatcher with the E. T. V. £ Ga. Col. W. T. Lane, the genial young at torney, accompanied by his brother, Pro fessor Lane, returned from a week's recreation spent in his old home, Mon- ticelo, Ga. Miss Mamie Frye and her iittie sister OPENING Ratio, who have been visiting their | father, Col. Fryo, at Leilaton, Ga., for some weeks, have returned and will be at home with their aunt, Mrs, West. Mrs. Ingalls of Macon visiied Amori- cus Friday on a sad mission. Nile is a Bister of the late Frank A. Gyles, and came to the funeral of Miss Annie Gyles. She left next day for Macon. Mrs. Drewery, Misses Mollle and Myrta Hill, Messrs. John and George Hill, all of Bronwood, attended the funeral of their niece, Miss Annie Gyles, on Friday and left for their home Satur day. Judge Charles F. Crisp returned home Friday night from his western trip. He is well and reports a pleasant time. His Americus friends gladly welcome him home, and are proud jof the many honors conferred on their distinguished con gressman. Rev. O. H. Judd, rector of St. Paul church in Macon, spent Friday in Araeri- cus. Mr. Judd will no longer be a stran ger ia Americus, for while here he was among friends, those who had known him a score of years. Time has dealt kindly with this elegant Christian gen tleman. Ho left for his homo yesterday, promising to return again. Capt. T. J. Brannon of Amorieus, who spent last winter in this city buying cot ton, came over again yesterday, and is now ready to buy all of the fleecy that he can get, at the highest market price, He is a genial, pleasant gentleman, and a liberal cotton buyer.
