Miss Georgia Glover returned homo
last night from a month’s stay in Gaines
ville, Ga. The many friends of Mr.
Glover and Miss Georgia will regrot to
learn that they will break up housekeep

regrets to friends, Mr. Glover will, of
course, reside in Americus, where his
large business interests are.
"Certain hard words, made -into pills,
Simply to swell the doctor bills,"
are not what constitute Dr. Pierce’s Pur-
pative Pellets. They are tiny, sugar-
coated, purely vegetable pills, as pleas
ant as confectionery to the taste, and
acting upon the stomach and liver gent
ly, but effectually, and as naturally as
nature herself. For sick headache, in
digestion, biiliousness, constipation and
all the resulting diseases, no laxative
equal to them has ever been discovered.
The Leading GROCER

The novelties in china glassware,
and lamps are almost bewildering
this season. The sample rooms of
oar best glass and lamp factories
as well as those of the Importing
China agencies presented a con
stellation of dazzling effects in the
most brilliant beauties that their
respective lines have ever shown.
You know the old adage "Goods
well bought are half sold.” When
we buy staples—we look for the
best qualities obtainable—when we
bay specialties, we look not alone
for quality, bat for the effects that
the finest fancies and the latest
fads demand. Jn addition to this
we always look for the lowest price
that factories will give, and the
best of it is, we don't stop looking
until we get there on all three
points—quality, style and price.
After gossiping on trade, novel
ties and prices—gossip naturally
drifts to the Artesian corner, our
store does not look very nice now;
but it’s going to look nice inside
of ten days, for by that time we
will get rid of carpenters who are
altering counters, etc.; get rid of
Its not much gossip to tell you
that when this new stock began to
come in, it did not find onr shelves
empty. Here, there and every
where yon coold find a few odd
sets of glasses and an odd lot of
dishes—a stray lamp or two—the
last “trade orphans” left of a once
bright lamp family, and we tell yon
frankly, we don’t like odd lots, wa
would just as leave mix a few drops
of the best black ink in a tab of
artesian water, as to mix these odd
lots, desirable as they are, with the
new lines we are marking np. Its
a question of convenience with ns
as mneh as price—yon onght to
see these goods.
Say, did yon know that Butler
& Berry were going to keep a fall
line of stoves this fall, it’s a fact
indeed. Of course, they don’t ex
pect to sell enough to keep the
earth warm, or to cook for the
whole universe, but they are going
to keep them and you know that
when Butler & Berry take hold of
a thing they generally get their
share of the trade—they are sorter
built that way.
