It was the ltist day of.the September Term of the county court and although it wasn’t a busy day, still there was enough done to nuke the occasion a memorable one to some people who ap peared before Judge Billsbury’s tribu nal. General Jackson—* ho, on account of Ids color, could not possibly have been any, relation of the General Jackson commonly called “Hickory”—was charg ed with carrying concealed weapons and his warlike spirit disappeared entirely, when Judgo Pillsluiry sentenced hi in to pay £.>0 or “go up” for six months. Jaeksoi} paid up and went on his way rejoicing. Alex McBride is a cotton picker, but he is makiug too much money and couldn’t stand prosperity, so he went home .and beat up his wife—in a moment of frantic joy. He paid $20 for the pleasure and will probably take that “out of her hide,” without being caught at it. Judgo Pillsbury also disposed of a small number of civil cases before adjourning court until next month. This term of the county court has been quite a busy one and Judge Pills- bury has disposed of thirty criminal cases, besides a large number of civil suits. In the Ordinary's Court. If the day was a quiet one in the county court room, it was a great deal more so in Judge Speer’s department. Only one matter of any importance was attended to and that was the grant ing of an order to Mr. W# E. Murphy, as administrator of the estate of A. II. Coulter, to sell the property belonging to that estate. The County Commissioners. Yesterday the regular monthly meet The Young People ot Americas rauize To-nlgbt at 8 o’clock, the young people of Amadeus who are music- lovers, will meet at the residence of Mr. M. Callaway for the purpose of organiz ing a music club. A large number of namesof prominent society people has been enrolled and, as the music talent of Americas is known to be above the average, some fine enter tainments may be looked for during the coming season. The lift is too long to be given in this morning’sTimeb-Recok- der, but hereafter it will probably bo published in full. There is a deal of discussion under way as to naming the club, some favor ing “The Choral Society” while others like ‘ The Haydn, The Mozart, The Handel aud The Mcndellsohn. However, the meeting to-night is ex pected to be largely attended and theu the club will be christened.
