A Barrel of Honey. Elaborate scenerjr and exciting me chanical effects are carjied by the man agement, Including the great Iron Mills scene, which introduces a stationary steam engine and machinery room to full operation, with rovolvihg belts, wheols and bands whirring, presenting at the climax of the third act one of the moat thrilling sensational effects ever seen upon the stage. The maohlnery is stopped just In time to save the life of a girl being borne to certain death on one of the Urge belts. Aside from its thrill ing element, ‘‘A Barrel of Money” Intro duces eleven distinct types of character, in the laughable and original oomedy complications, following one another rapid suoeeaslon, yet being spiced with Intense human Interest and a degree of probability foreign to farce or "horse- pUy.” . Fifteen cents per bushel or 50 cents per hundred pounds paid to wagons for sound cotton seed delivered to the sep25tf Americus Guano Company. Second-hand Furniture bought and sold at 010 Cotton avenue. Erected to the Memory of General Howell Cobb. Yesterday a handsome and Imposing monument was placed in ^position in Oconee cemetery. It was a monument erected by the children of the late General Howell Cobb. The monument is situated on tho Cobb lot on an overlooking hill by the side of the Oconee, and is in a lovely situation. It is twenty feet in height and most elegantly finished by that skilful sculp tor, Mr. Thomas Harkwalter, of Au gusta. Quite appropriate it la that it should have been carved out of Georgia granite and placed in position by Georgia workmen. The granite out of which the shaft was made came from the quarries near Lexington, and is more beautiful in ap pearance than marble. On the western face of the monument is inscribed the name of General Howell Cobb, the date of his birth and death, etc. On the northern side is inscribed the name of Mary Ann Lamar Cobb, the wife of General Cobb. On the eastern side are the names of the deceased children of General and Mrs. Cobb, and on the southern sid'e are inscribed the many offices of honqr and trust held by this distinguished Geor gian while in life. It is one of tho most beautiful monu ments in the cemetery, and Is a fitting remembrance of the illustrious dead by their living children.—Athens Banner.
