Rodgers of the Arm of Rodg ers and Wilder is visiting frieads in North Carolina and will take in the ex position at Raleigh. Ur. J. B. Neal of the S. A. A U. rail- road, who has been out of the city for the past few days on business for his line, returned yesterday. Uiss Florrle Johnston of Smitliville is paying a visit to Uiss Hattie Clark, on Prince street, and the hearts of Smith- ville’s young men grow weary! Ur. W. W. O’Quinn and family are takieg in the exposition in Atlanta, and Ur. C. E. Underwood looks after the business while the boss is away. Sam Wolff, representing the staunch Arm of Goetter, Weil & Co. of Montgom ery is in the city, and if whatever Sam says goes, it must be believed that this will be a lucky year. The many friends of Capt. W. H. Mor gan arc grieved to learn that he grows no bettor, and that his physicians fear that congestion of the brain, resulting from the stroke of paralysis with which he was recently seized. Capt Morgan is at the residence of Ur. Ed Miller, on Jackson street John A. McDonald ran into town yes terday. He says he has enough of legts lative life and has no wish to repeat his late experience. He made a good rep resentative; and if there had been enough of his sort, the session would have ended about September first, and saved the state about (50,000. AT THE FI. V. "A Breezy Time”—Interpreted by E. B Fits and Kathryn Webster. There weie probably fifty empty seats out of the eighteen hundred at DeGive’s opera-house last , night, but my predic tion Is that when “A Breezy Time” re turns on Galaday day of the exposition there will not be standing room. Just what was advertised was seen— and everybody in the theater ought to have been satisfied, for I do not believe they will see a better musical farce comedy this season than “A Breezy Time.” Strange beyond peradventure, last night the women were pretty—real pret ty, aad Kathryn Webster and Capitola Uriine in yellow and black were visions seldom seen with a traveling farce com edy oompany. The costumes of the people were all pretty and tasty, and there were none who could not dance. The people In the caste were all com paratively unknown here but they will be remembered pleasantly.—Atlanta Journal, September 4. Fresh Lot Uinee meat, Almria and Uaiaga grapes, Smoked sardines, Uaccaronf, Cream cheese, Yeast eakes, Bulk olives, Fancy head rice, Imported rice, Gluten graham flour. French ft Mayo, The Pqpular Grocers. The Next Attraction We want every mother to know that croup can be prevented. True croup never appears without a warning. The flrat symptom is hoarseness; then the child appears to have taken cold or a cold may have accompanied the hoarse ness from the start, After that a pecu liar rough cough is developed, which is followed by the oroup. The time to act is when the child first becomes hoarse; a few doeea of Chamberlain’* Cough Rem' edy will prevent the attack. Even after a rough cough hat appeared, the disease maybe prevented by using this remed; directed. For sale by W. C. Russell Fall has come and with *t the time to settle “that little bill” at Dn. One of the cleanest and neatest speo- tacular productions ever seen in Atlanta drew an enormous crowd to DeGive’s opera house last night. Every seat from pit to dome was occu pied, and even standing room was in de mand. And the attraction deserved it It was an excellent performance from begin ning to end. The costumes were all new hnd elegant, the scenery was good, the chorus wai pretty and well trained, and tne comedians were great. The specialties deserve high praise. The Putnam sisters in their songs and dances were immense. They have good strong voices, which are withal very sweet, and their dancing is the sym metry of motion. The equilibrist and contortionist is marvel. His one arm hand-stands and hand-springs are wonderful. Atray, the juggler, Is unusually olever. Misses Minnie and Lillie Thurgate do some graceful daneing. Charles H. Kenny Is a good comedian. His strides, his jokes, bis'songa and his makeups, are- new and amusing,' He caused more than one outburst of genii' ine laughter.—Atlanta Journal.
