Scoville, a genial gentleman who has been prospecting in Amerious several days lett yesterday. Major W. L. Glesjner is at home now, after spending the summer in attendance upon the legislative session. Mr. Charles S. Johnson left yesterday, after a pleasant stay of two weeks In and around Americus. He will stop in Ma oon for awhile. Col S. H. Hawkins, president of the S , A. A M. railroad, and his charming daughter, Miss Nannie Lou, are in the city.—Atlanta Journal. Miss Hattie Windsor, one of the social favorites of Americus loft yesterday to visit Miss Hattie Davis in Macon. Her many friends wish her a pleasant trip. Miss Alice Stallings of Talbotton, the accomplished sister of Mr. Tom Stal lings of this city, will sail on Wednes day for Berlin. She will ppend the win ter abroad. Mr. Tom Clayton, one of the best known and most popular railroad men In tbe south, is now in Americus, and expects to make his headquarters here for the winter. Solicitor Hudson has been quite 111 thia week in Lumpkin. The many friends of “the State” will join Tub Times-Becordbr in wishing him speedy recovery. . — „ Miss Kate Weaver of Mew York Is In the city stopping at Professor J. E. Mathis'. Miss Wearer Is an accomplish ed elocutionist and offers her profession al services to Americna. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Forrester of Lees burg are visiting their mother, Mrs. H. Kimbrough, on Elm avenue. Mrs. For rester, nee Miss Lizzie Kimbrough, will be welcomed by a host of her old friends here. Mr. Em.net Murray left yesterday for Thomaston, Ua. He will be married to day to Miss Julia Thompson, one of the loveliest young ladles of that place. Dr Campbell and Mr. Will Carter accom panied Mr. Murray on thia pleasant mis sion.
