"The Clemenceau Case "
‘The Clemenceau Case” played at the
opera house last night was a good play
muidered by a bad company. Last year
when the same programme was rendered,
with Laura Bigger as “Isa,” the house,
in numbers, was not at all commensurate
with the merits of the play, but this
time the audience was far good and the
play excessively bad.
But one thing can be truthfully said,
and that is that the managers of the op
era house seldom infllot upon the public
an uninteresting entertainment, and that
of last night Is the first of the season at
which the public could klok. Let the
gentleman who took the part of “Pierre
Clemenoeau” lay off for awhile and
memorize hie lines.
