Police Officer Barrow returned yester day from Knoxville with the thief, Hen ry Clark, who stole the horse and buggy last week. Mr. Bagley’s horse does not seem to be at all injured by his heavy drive of seventy-two miles in fourteen hours. Clark is safely lodged in jail. Two of our popular young business ■pen took a trip on Friday in a buggy to a neighboring town, carrying with them ammunition and guns with whieh to slaughter the unsuspecting game> On the way back they stop, one of them goes into the neighboring fields after some doves which he has seen settle therein, leaving hitf companion with in structions to shoot anything in eight wearing leathers. After chasing those doves several miles and using up all of bis shells, he comes back and finds his friend calmly load ing and firing at a “kitty-hawk” sitting on a tree, which, so far as any thing Is known to the contrary is still sit ting there as be bad not flown when the ammunition gave out, Tbe friends were a little blue over their bad luok and were beginning to quarrel, when tbe taller of tho two saw an old erow on a fence. They stopped again, and after a pretty sharp race they captured the bird, whioh could not fly, and pausing at a negro cabin, they had him cooked, and either one of them will now tell you that crow is far ahead of any other kind of game, both in delicacy and flavor.
