W. Merritt of Atlanta is visit ing in tne city. Mr. Jim Hooks of Coney spent yester day in Americus. Mr. J. J. Williford returns to-day from Montgomery, Ala. Col. B. P. Hollis is registered at the Vl in ball House in Atlanta. Capt Bagley is absent from the city. He will be goneserera! days. Eugene C. Callaway, Esq., of Atlanta, is registered at the Allen House. Mr S. Guthman, a popular commer cial tourist of Atlanta, is in the city. Mr. G. D. Harwell of Atlanta is circu lating among his friends in Americus. Mrs. 8. H. Hawkins left yesterday for Hew York, where she joins her hue- band. Judge W. H. Fish of Oglethorpe is in the city. He will convene superior court on Monday. Miss May Safford of Barnesville who is the guest of Miss Alice Wheatley, leaves in the morning for a visit to Buena Vista. Mr. Clem Wilder, of tbe firm of Rogers A Wilder, after a contracted case of tpphoid fever, Is out again and left for his old home, Raleigh, N. C., Friday, to recuperate and to visit relatives and friends. Col. C. A. Tumor, one of the most prominent lawyers of Macon, spent yes terday In Americus, attending an impor tant law suit. Col.
