—one of Dr. Pierce’s Pleasant Pel*
lets. They do the right thins in the
right way. They cleanse and regu
late tho liver, stomach and bowels
—-thoroughly and effectively, but
mildly and gently. They persuade,
rather than force. One tiny, sugar*
■coated Pollet's a gentle laxative;
three to four act as a cachartio.
They’re the smallest, but the best
There’s less to take, but there’s
more good in it, when it’s taken.
They’re the original Little Liver
Pill, and they’ve never been equaled.
Sick Headache, Bilious Headache,
-Constipation, Indigestion, Bilions
Attacks, and all derangements of
the liver, stomach and bowels, are
prevented, relieved, and cored.
They’re tho cheapest pill you can
buy,^ because they’re guaranteed to
give” satisfaction, or your money it

The Savannah, Americus A Montgom
ery and the'Central are still stouts, with
no Immediate proepecte of a settlement
As long as the trouble continues so long
will Savannah be injured, because' the
foreign business of the Sam which baa,
since the road begun operations, come
to Savtnnab, is being turned to Bruns
wick via Helena.
The Savannah cotton which the Sam
Is now handling cornea via the East
Tennessee to Jessup, and from there to
Ite deatlnation by the Savannah, Florida
A Western, which road atlll continues
Its arrangements, even tboug the Sam is
its competitor at several points.
Since the opnenlng of the cotton sea
son the Savannah, Americus and Mont
gomery has brought here In the neigh
borhood of 75,000 bales of cotton, be
sides an Immense quantity of naval
stores and lumber. This business will
necesearily go to some other point next
year unleu tbeae le a settlement of the
preunt difficulty or the road Is built
IntoSavannah.
Sixty-five miles ball that Is required
to complete the line to Savannah, and
this distance, It is estimated, can be
built for 85,000 per mile, which would
only be 8325,000. If CoL. Hawkins re
ceives encouragement from Savannah’s
business men he will most likely com
plete hie road to this city. He Is ex
pected here every day, and will be here
probably before the end of the week.
If the Sam road were completed into
Savannah It would give this porta splen
did line to the west, via Montgomery,
Ala. It would be a competitive line of
the Central for Western traffic, and the
competition would mean big results to
Savannah. The trouble between the
Richmond and Danville aud the Sam is
the golden opportunity for Savannah to
get another line of railroad.
Some railroad people think if the Sam
is completed to Savannah, It will mean a
Louisville A Nashville line of steamers
to New York. The Louisville A Nash
ville and the Sam people are on friendly
terms at Montgomery, and the big ays-
tom is quite anxious to get a connection
to get Into Savannah to compete with
the Richmond A Danville.
The Louisville A Nashville people, It
Is said on good authority, are determined
to get to the cout, even if they Jiave to
build here themselves. An air-line from
Atlanta to Savannah la being considered
by them, In the event they can't get
here through a connection with the S.
A. A M. road.—News.
