The People's National Bank only held a claim of <200 against Mr. Slappey, al though several other claims were fore closed. Mr. Slappey will doubtlessly be able to disentangle himself from his fi nancial trouble before many more days. “The Club’’ will not meet at the resi dence ot Judge Fort to-night, on acoount of the death of Mr. Simmons, but will assemble at tbe borne of Major Speer this evening.
