4 'We denounce the Republican legisla
tion known M the Sherman act of 1800,
as a cowardly makeshift, fraught with
possibilities of danger In the future,
which should make all of its supporters,
as well as Its author, anxious for Its
peedy repeal. We hold to the use of
hothgjUfljwiV-V,rer ah the standard
pffney of the country, und to the coin
age of both gold and sorer without dis
criminating against either metal
charge for mintage, but the dollar unit
of coinage of both metals must be of in
trinsic and exchangeable value, t
adjusted through international agree-
I ment, or by such safeguards of legisla*
\ tion as shall insure the maintenance of
II the parity of the two metals, and the
f* equal power of every dollar at all times
in the market and in the payment of
debt; and we demand that all paper
renoy shall be kept at par with and
definable In such col. 1 *. We insist upon
this policy as especially neeessary for
' • the protection of the fanners and labor-
• ng classes, .the first and j>ost defence

Nashville, Oct. 2.—The Nashville
American says: There are indications
all over the country, and especially in
the middle «Utes and along the main
and breach lines of the Louisville and
Nashville railroad, that a general up
rising against P. M. Arthur, chief of the
Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineer*,
is shout to take place. In fact, the hit
terest feeling is being aroused against
him. and after 13 years in the executive
chair, his head may be chopped off at
the annnal meeting next winter.
So far as the Louisville and Nashville
railroad employes are concerned i
boldly claim that Arthur and the chief
of the trainmen would not give them a
fair deal in the recent conference with
the Louisville and Nashville manage
ment. They say that the chief of the
trainmen declared that the vote against
the cut was not taken according to the
previsions of the constitution, and that
he would refuse to call out ids men in
case the officials insisted on tho cut,
is claimed that Arthur joined hitn in
this action. It is also alleged that Ar
thur has not acted for the best interests
of the men on special occasions.

CURES FEVERS.
Dr. J. W. Nelms says:
Atlanta, Ga., Aug. 14, 18ft3,
For the past two years I have used
King’s Royal Oermetuer in my prac
tice ami with most satisfactory re
sults. I have used it in Typhus, Ty
phoid and Bilious Fevers, and al
ways with the speediest and best
effects. It lowers the temperature
and breaks up fevers of all kinds
common to this latitude, more ex
peditiously than any remedy within
my knowledge. From my own ex
perience in its use, upon myself and
upon others to whom I have recom
mended and administered it I be
lieve it would be a good remedy for
Yellow Fever. It is a most excellent
antiseptic, cures Catarrh, Iusomnia,
Night Sweats and Eczema in all its
forms. King’s Royal Germetuer is
emphatically a safe remedy and
leaves no injurious effects in the
system.
Tuscumria, Ala., June 27, ’03.
I very cheerfully bear testimony to
the merits of King’s Royal Germs-
