reached here of the killing of Mr. O.O.
Herndou, a woodsman for Ketterer SB
Dean, turpentine operators, by one Newt
Jones, colored.
They became involved in come trouble
while in the woods cutting boss*. The
negro seised a long box ax and chopped
Mr. Herndon in the shoulder and cheat,
killing him almost instantly.
The nsoro was fired at several times
hot escaped. Considerable excitement
prevails, and if tbe negro is caught ha
may be quickly dealt with. Offioers are
in hot pursuit.

as, a wealthy farmer living near this
dty, was seized when he went to hil

soora grocery houses here.
