scores of people who attended the Bap

the vestibule after service until the tor
rent that poured down Taylor street had
passed by. Both street crossings, from
the church to the corner of Mr. Shaw's
yard, and from Dr. Kldridge’e residence
to the opposite side, were flooded, caus
ing a vexatious delay upon the part of
thoee who had attended servloee. Over
seer Halford says that he ean quickly
repair the damaged crossing* if the aUdta
material neceeaary is furnished him, and

MONDAY,
Mr. J. P. Blaize, an extensive real es
tate dealer In Des Moines, Iowa,
rowly escaped on* of the severest at
tacks of pneumonia while in the north
ern part of that State during a recent
blizzard, says the Saturday Review. Mr.
Blaize had occasion to drive several
miles during the storm and was so thor
oughly chilled that be was unable to
get warm, and Inside of an boar after
his return be was threatened with a se
vere esse of pneumonia or long fever.
Mr. Blaize sent to the nearest drug store
and got a bottle of Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy, of which he bad often heard,
and took a number of large doses. He
says tb* effect was wonderful and In a
short time be was breathing qoiteeasily.
He kept on taking the medicine and tb*
next day was able to come to Des
Moines. Mr. Blaise regards hi* o ire as
