LADY F.ALLS FROM THE BUGGY
While Frightened Horse Continues on
His Way.
Mbs Luoile Dunn was thrown from
s boggy while riding on Jackson
street yesterday afternoon, sustaining
piinful injuries, the full extent of
whioh were not folly known. The bug
gy was broken considerably, as the
frightened horse proceeded to run.
Tue accident, it seems, was oause by
th i brt aking of the king bolt holding
the body of the vehicle to the forward
axle, thus allowing the body to fall,
unsupported, to the ground.
In this way Miss Dunn was thrown
forwaid upon her arm and side.
As qnickly as possible a haok was se
cured and the yonEg lady sent home,
where a physician attended her inju
ries, She oomplained if great pain in
her side and right arm, and for a time
it was feared that her injuries were
quite serious,
In the meanwhile the hone freed
himself from ycuDg Cliff Choppcl',
who was driving, and went speeding
down Jackson street with the front
whet Is dangling at his heels.
Efforts made to stop the horso only
served to frighten h m the more, and
•he ran twice around the blcck. At
last he stiuck an iron poet in front of
the CaDk of Southwestern Georgia
with tuffioient foroe to bend it, thus
ohecking him.
At a later hour yesterdry it was stat
ed that Miss Dunn’s injuries, fortune
ately, were not of any serious nature,
as at first feared
HAIR TELLS CHARACTER.
Color of Hair Said to Indicate a Per

is not devoid of character; far from it.
The disposition of the average bald

for the welfare of others, that he neg

Prof. Sabouraud, of Paris, France, in

causing it to become totally bald in five

though the grist is getting light and a

Thursday or the day after.
The way the Americus batters hit the

sworn testimony to the fact that our
park was made too small.

A LARGER PARK A NECESSITY
Americas Grounds Too Small For
* Good Bali.
Before ihe first game of ball on the
Americus ball park was half finished
the fact that the grounds were too
small was quite apparent. This was
further emphasized at the very first in
ning, when Columbus at the bat knock
ed a fly-er far over the fence and
brought in three men on bases. This
“ovar the fence” act was several times
repeated. Ball fans generally agree
that the park is not large enough for
all rrqairement. The club baa ample
grounds, haviDg leased some fourteen
acres of land, but only a small portion
—too small, it seems—was enclosed.
The grand stand is a substantial struc
ture and will seat comfortably 500 or
000 spectator, but the p’aying teams
need more room, It is likely that the
difficulty will be quickly remedied by
the local management.
