HANGING HERE SEEMS CERTAIN
Looks Like Two Negroes Will Swing
Friday.
In all probability George Broughton
and John Graham, the two negroes in
the Amerions jail and sentenced to be
hanged next Friday, 18th, will pay the
penalty of their crimes upon that date
and withont farther respite, as their
cases havy gone to the supreme court
and a’so to the last court of resort, the
Prison Commiesior. Attorneys for the
condemned negroes appeared before
the Commission the past week in an ef
fort in their behalf, and while that
body has not yet rendered a decision
little hope is entertained that the sen
tence of the coart will be changed.
Bronghtcn killed bis fatber-in law,
Harry Horne, an int ffjnsive old negro
eighty years old, while Graham’s crime
was equally atrocions. If the negroes
are to be banged Friday next, the ex
ecution will take plaoe in private in
rear of the oonnty jail, both going
through the same trap.

EIGHT POINTS IS THE DECLINE
Following the Sharp Advance of Past
Week.
The advance m cotton values the
past week ended yesterday in a decline
of eight or ten points, putting July
cotton at 11:12 at the c'ose. But this
will probably be for a brief time only, 1
as a great deal of cotton throughout !
the belt was killed frost the past 1
week, necessitating replanting or else
the abandonment of that much of the
acreage. In the Americas market eleven
cents is efcill tffared, bat holders are
not inclined to accept this figure.

Hunger.
Good Advioe from Dodson’s Pharmacy
as to How to Create an Appetite,
Any physician wi l tell you that it is
unwise to eat unless one is really hungry.
It is far better to miss a meal than to
eat without appetita.
But do not take a tonic, stimulant, or
aope'izer to make you hungry. Dodson’s
Pharmacy says that the best way to
create an appetite is to restore the
digestion to health by the use o f Mi-o«na
stomach tablets, a reliable remedy that
they sell with the best of satisfaction. 1
When Mi-o na is used, the irritation 1
and infl immation of the stomach cnat
iog w.ll be soothed, the gastric follicles
will be strengthened so that they will
pour out the natural digestive fluids
with regularily, and the food you eat
will be perfec’ly digested without du
tress,
A large box of Mi-o na stomach
tablets is sold for 50 cents by Dodson’s
Pharmacy, and it is so successful and !
reliable’in caring indigestion and o ? her !
stomach troubles, with the exception of
cancer of the stomach, that they sell it ,
under a guarantee that the money will ,
be refunded unless it does all that is -
claimed for it. r

LOSES GAME AFTER HOT FIGHT
Crews Handled the Ball Like an Artist
Good Playing Has Encouraged Ball
Enthusiasts Here —Club Goes Away
Monday,
la the prettiest game of the entire
week Americas lost to Wajcross yea
t< rday in a close score of four to five,
and it required the tenth inning to
break the tie of four to four. Ia this
Americas lost by an error, and Way
cross won by a single point only.
It was a great gam* 3 , and while the
visitors strong it with their two others
the aodienoe of 300 were none the less
appreciative of the really excellent
game played by the Americas team.
From start to finish both olobs played
with snap and vigor.
Manager Powell had installed some
new timber in his clnb, and these ar
tists made good in a whirl. Grows,
the new pitcher, did great work, des
pite the tedioos all night trip here
from Birmingham and the fact that the
clnb was all new to him.
Sorrells and Crawley, oar new third
baseman and left fielder, did splendid
work, both striking home runs. In
fact the game throaghoat was excel
lent, although we lost it.
Westbrook went behind the bat yes
terday and was 18 karat fine there, as
he is in any position.
Wayoross played a fine game here
yesterday, with Wilson and Griffin do
ing the battery work. They got eleven
hits cfi‘ Americas, and made only one
error. McGrath’s fair decisions were
alike pleasing to both dabs and the
an lienee of nearly 300 people.
Yesterday’s excellent playing revived
the drooping spirits of looal balloma
niaos, and with the clnb strengthened
they believe we are going to win oar
full share of games. Foar good play*
ers were added yesterday, and there
are others coming later.
Tomorrow the Americas team leaves
upon its first tonr, playing Wayoross
three games and Valdosta three. Upon
their return here next week Americas
plays Valdosta 21st, 220 d, 23d,

Dear Sir: The Trustees of Fair
Ground, Cobleskil), N. Y were glad to
pay 15 cents a gallon more for Devoe;
and no wonder. Two other paint agents
said It would take 150 gallons of their
paint to cover the buildings.
Our agent put it at 125 or lees. It took
115.
We sayed them 35 gallons of paiat
and painting (worth $4 to $5 a gallon,
as the painting costs two or three times
as much as the pain*) less i 5 cents a
gallon on 115 gallons. Say $l4O.
Thats how to oount the cost of paint.
The oost of putting it on L $3 or $4 a
