It is Dangerous to Neglect a Cold.
How often do we hear it remarked:
“It’s only a cold,” and a few days later
learn that the man is on his back with

should not be disregarded, Chamber

Amfrjcuo’ ‘lnnocents Abroad” went
np against it yesterday in the usual
style to which they are so well accus
tomed. Way cross, those mean big
boys, swiped their candy, eleven stioks
of it, and the “oellautes” lost the game
in a whirl.
The announcement of the lesnlt cre
ated no consternation in Americas. It
was like reading the news of a funeral
that we had already attended the day
before.
In fac f , the only surprise would be a
reversal of figures.
Through force of habit, the local fans
gathered about the news centres at C
o’clock, but not to discuss any achieve
ment of victory upon the part of our
valiant ball twirlers, The face of
every fan indicated that he expected
the news just as it came in.
And when it came it put ns back
with McGinty, right on the bottom,
our dear old place.
Americus succeeded in getting fonr
rune. As hosts Wayoross, according
to rules of polite society, was bound to
let us go around the ring and take a
look at the audienoe, and also let the
audience see the wonder of the state
league.
Americuatut up Richardson and
S’ephens yesterday. This made it
oesy for the other fellows.
Tribble, the same twirler here last
week, pitched for Waycross, while 0.
Buesse handled the balls that came
behind the bat. And our obituary was
very quickly written.
The score was 11 to 4—about like
some of the many other games.
But Americas is going to do better
today. At least there is a ray of hope
in the fact that two new men will join
her shattered aggregation in Waycross
today These are Whaley and Hudson,
good men from the South Atlantio
League.
Americas, it is said, paid a good
round sum to secure their release, but
we had to have them if we expec’ed to
win at all. Hudson, a six-footer, was
here yesterday. Both he and Whaley,
another artist, will play this afternoon
Though somewhat discouraged and
a tr II j disfigured Americas is still in
the ring, and will hammer away until
she wins.
Following is the score of jester lay’s

The following speoial to the Times-
Recorder tells the story.
Waycross, May 14.—Wayoross won
from Amerious, 11 to 4. The visitors
pat up a fairly good game, bat errors
at critical stages proved costly, Amer
icas has good material and a little
more work together will bring them
from the bottom.
The feature of the game was the bat
tiDg of Tribble, the Wayoross pitcher.
Oat of five times np he made four hits,
one of them for two bases.
