The \ Question Now Worrying The
Pi isoners.
Whether or not Americas will have a
double barging on Friday is a ques
tion not yet officially dettrmined, and
m the meanwhile George Broughton
and John Graham, who are to play
the principal roleß in this grim trage
dy, are wondering where they are at.
The t'me is short, but as yet the
Prison Board, to which tribunal their
cases were appealed, has not ren
dered a decision. The two condemned
negroas are respited until Friday, and
Sheriff Bell as well as the attorneys for
Broughton and Graham are anxiously
awaiting the action of the Prison
Board. Little time for preparation
will be roqnirtd hero, as the gallows
can be erected within an hoar, but the
suspense and uncertainty upon the
port of the negroes is trying, The
general op'nion here is that the Prison
Board will not recommend executive
elemeccy.
BCIENCE PREVENTS BALDNESS.
The Fatal Germ and Ita Remedy Now
Facta of Science.
It is the rarest thing in the world for
a man to be necessarily bald. No man
whose hair is not dead at the roots, need
be bald if he will use Newbro’s Herpi
cide, the new scalp antiseptic. Herpi
cide destroys the germ that cuts the hair
off at the root; and cleans the scalp of
dandruff and leaves it in a perfectly
healthy condition. Mr. Mannett, in the
Maryland Block, Butte, Mont., was en
tirely bald. In less than a month Herpi
cide had removed the enemies of hair
growth, and nature did its work by cov
ering his head with thick hair an inch
long, and in six weeks he had a normal
suit of hair. Sold by leading druggists.

HANDSOME RING IS RECOVERED
Stone Lost Two Yea'S Ago Found In
Ditch
Mrs, E. J. Ryals was made vary
happy yesterday by the reoovery of
a $250 diamond ring, lost two years
ago. As er advertising and searching
in vain for the lost treasure Mrs. Ryals
abandoned hope of ever recovering it.
Yesterday her little daughter, Thelma,
while p’aying out on the pavement in
front of he residence, found the ring
in the sand near the curbstone, where
it had laid for two years. The ring was
in petfeot condition and more valuable
than when losh as diamonds have
advanced greatly in value within that
time. Little Mies Thelma is the tot
who, seme time ago, tossed SIBO in
bills in the grate to see if money would
burn, but the loss of the bills is more
than effbet in the finding of the ring
yesterday.

TREES KILLED BY THE DISEASE
Peach Curl Kills Half North Georgia
Orchards.
Peaob growers about Americas are
concerned over the report that the
peach leaf curl, a deadly disease, has

Georgia, State Entomologist Smith

number of orchards in that section of
the state and the ‘curl’ is worse this
year that he has ever seen it. Nearly
half of the trees are denuded cf leaves
and they present a very bad appeear
ance. He lock a number of pictures of
these curled leaves and also of the
orchards affected. The entomological
department will soon issue a bulletin
giving a history of this disease with
proper treatment for it.

COURSERS TO TROT TOMORROW
Spirited Trotting Race is Arranged

As Americas cannot oonnect her
interest with baseball she will turn for
a time to the trotting track and witness
tomorrow a spirited dash between a
pair of jast steeds here. The trottiDg
will be done out Felder etree\ quite
likely, and will be between the fleet
steeds of two well known citizens just
.to determine which has the fastest
horse. It is in no sense a horse race,
but a bit of diversion to vary the
monotony of the ball park where it
is constantly one way.

licile narrow dirt walkp, scarcely
more than pathp, have given way to
