rather ragged game in which Americas

although some very pretty plays were
made as it progressed slowly.

Crewp, who pitched for Americas,
was weak from the work of the day be
fore and eight Albanians pranced
around the bases, to the horror of the
audience. Sorrells relieved Crews in
s'anter, and put an end to such whole
sale sprinting.
Nick .Lamar played first base for the
home team, and. did it better than
many of the professionals who have
been failures there.
Albany, too, swapped pitchers dar
ing the game, substituting Boyd for
Posfy after Americas has sprinted six
times in the first. Bat the looals kept
on doing it, scoring one in the second
and sixth and two more runs in the
seventh innings,

Hou. E. B. Lewis is at his home in
Montezuma aud will be ou the political
hustings from now until the day cf the
Congresional election August 22rd.
Notwithstanding that his opponent has
been making a house-to-house canvass
throughout the district, Mr, Lewis has
remained faithfully at his post in
Washington, save a brief time he vis
ited Georgia daring his mother’s late
illness. But now, inasmuch as Con
gress will adjourn at an early date, Mr.
Lewis will take the ti-dd acd make an
active canvass of the distric: It is a
well known faot that there isn’t a
stronger campaigner in ail Georgia
