Another Bunch of Error* and Wretched
Playing.
Tu o Amerioos bunch again defeated
themßelvea in Columbus yesterday by
p’ayiog rotien bill and harvest
ing enough errors for au entire

robbing a blind organ grinder,
bat* it gave Columbus the game,
and Bhe needed it badly. Aver

pitch fjr Americas, Columbus got
nine hits off him while giving up only
two. Just what induced the belief that

also made by other farmers in the
squad, aud Columbus took the game
by the modest soore of 8 ;to 2 though
she oculd have made it more, no doubt,
It was au iuexousable fiasco, and suf

THE SHOOTING IS ACCIDENTAL
Lady Attending a Picnic Seriously
Wounded.
Mrs. R. F.,Danlavy, of Albany, who
has friends and acquaintances in

charged. The charge penetrated Mr.
Holley’s hand and then strnck Mrs.
Dnnlavy, who with other ladies of the
party stood near. The load of shot
entered the abdomen, and the wound
is regarded as quite serious.

Already Big Shipments Being Made in

The peach season has opened, and
for two months Georgia will luxuriate
in the pleasure of supplying the coun

size of the crop ranges from 4,000 to
upwards of 6,000 cars. While the great
orchards about Americas, same of
them among the largest in the state,
are not yet in their prime, many car-,
loads of fine peaches will be shipped

BRING IMMIGRANTS TO GEORGIA |
Plan Suggested at Meeting of Indus
trial Ass’n.
The annual convention of the Geor
gia Industrial association was held at
Warm Springs a day or two ago, with
seventy five prominent cotton manu
facturers of the state in attendance.
The need of more labor for Georgia
cotton mills and the desirability of in
ducing immigration to this state were
the main topics of discussion, and
there was an exceedingly interesting
symposium, including addresses by
Frank P. Sargent of Washington,com
missioner general of immigration,
whose subject was “Immigration to
the South and How Best to Encourage
It.” Mr. Sargent advooited the es
tablishment of steamship lines direct
from Georgia ports to Europe, the
establishment of a bureau of immigra
tion as a purely state institution, and
the distribution of advertising matter
in foreign countries printed in the lan
guage of those countries.

ALBANY SKUNKED BY CORDELE
Candidates for Cellar Position are Shut
Out
If Amerious could only get a chance
at the Sandy Bottoms from Albany for
about four straight games we might
swap the bottom place with her easily,
as she is nearly there already. Alban;
is certainly playing in toguh lock. Val
dosta beat her three straights this
week, to say nothing of a succession of
other defeats, and now the Se.ndy Bot
toms are being banded the same dose
in Oordele. The game yesterday was
a shut out, Oordele winning on a Ecore
of 6to 0. Albany and Americus should
shup in a pen together and make it a
finish fight to the death, with a vote of
thanks to the survivors.
Sore Muscles.
Prominent athletes throughout the
country find that the best treatment for
sore muscles after severe exercise or
hard work of any kind, is a hot bath at
bed time which opens the pores. This
should immediately be followed with
an applieation of Chamberlain’s Pain
Balm vigorously rubbed into the skin.
This liniment removes all stiffness and
soreness and has become a favorite rub
down, as it acts promptly and keeps the
muscles in excellent condition. For
