COMPANY TAKES PROPERTY
Americus Railway and light Co, Will Take Over This
Week the Utilities Here.
The negotiations for the properties
of the Americus illuminating and
Power Co., by the recently organized
Americus Railway and Light Co., in
terrupted a few days since by the
death so Mr. Uriah B. Harrold, will
be resumed tomorrow morning.
In fact, the negotiations are practi
cally completed, and it only remains
to transfer the stock of th old com
pany to the new.
This interesting point had been
reached last Tuesday, the party of
Philadelphia capitalists coming here
for that purpose, when the death
of Mr. Harrold, who was largely in
terested in the old company, necessi
tated a postponement for the time.
But the transfer, it is expected, will
now be completed.
Col. W. A. Dodson was advised yes
terday by wire of the expected return
of the party here on Monday.
The gentlemen coming here for this
purpose are Mr. George R.

ATLANTA, Sept. 14.—Not since
the riots of a year ago has there been
such wild demonstrations upon At

game wrested from Little Rock by
a score of 8 to 4 gave Atlanta “the

wild. The appearance here of no
crowned potentate could have caused
such frenzied demonstrations of joy
and enthusiasm. Men left their offices

Heisey and Mr. A. N. Walker of Phila
delphia, all of them interested in the
new company, which will establish a
great enterprise here.
It is understood that there will be
no difficulty in effecting a transfer of
the property here to te new com
pany. The late Mr. Harrold was presi
dent of the old company, and ano
ther will be chosen in his stead.
The newly chosen president, it is
understood will effect the transfer of
stock to the new company.
Having thus acquired the gas plant,
electric plant and other properties
here, the newly organized Americus
Railway and Light Co., will proceed
to the building of its new power house
and a survey'of the proposed electric
railroad.
Upon the return of the Pennsylvan

transfer of property has been com
pleted, further information upon this
point will be given out.
