whether we’ll be able to get in a duplicate order.

WIDOW TO BRING SUIT
POLICY ON RAWLINGS
ATLANTA, Sept. 19.—Mrs. Ange
line Rawlings, widow of J. G. Ray
lings, who was hanged at Valdosta
some months ago for the murder of
the Carter children, has brought suit
for $2,000 against the Mutual Bene
fit Association for insurance, which
it is claimed her husband had on
his life in that company. ‘ Old man"
Rawlings had three certificates in
the association, one of which was
paid just after his execution. The
association claims that the dues were
not paid on the others and his right
to participate was therefore forfeited.
Mrs. Rawlings says the dues or as
sessments were paid as long as no
tices of them ;vere sent to her hus

more about money than the rich, and
that is the poor. The poor can think
of nothing else. That is the misery

JUDGE W. A. LITTLE
MAY LEAVE BENCH
Work is Too Great a Strain on
This Jurist.
COLUMBUS, GA., Sept. 19.—(Spec
ial.) —A special to the Ledger from
Talbotton, Ga., says Judge W. A.
Little, of the Chattahoochee circuit,
seriously contemplates resigning and
returning to his law practice. The
step is contemplated owing to the in
creaaing duties of the office of judge
and the strain on him. Judge Little
has been on the bench nearly two
years, having succeeded the late Judge
\V. D. Butt. An aditional judge for
the circuit is favored by many and
it is thought if one should be secur
ed Judge Little would continue to
serve.

WANT BODY OF LEE
TO STAY ON ISLAND
Georgians Oppose Removal of
The Remains.
Many prominent Georgians do not
concur in the plan to remove the
remains of Gen. Lee (Light Horse
Harry) from their resting place on
Cumberland Island to a place by the
side of his famous son, Gen. Robert
E. Lee, in Virgina.
Far from the scenes of his triumph
Gen. Henry Lee lies buried off the
coast of Georgia on the estate of Dun
geness, formerly owned by Gen.
Nathanael Greene, and presided over
at the time of Lee's death by Gen.
Lee’s daughter, Mrs. Nightingale.
It seems the general desire that
the body of Gen. Lee should not be
disturbed at this late day, even though
President Roosevelt is quoted as in
dorsing the program in which sev
eral Southern socieites in New York
are participating.
The plan is to disinter the body
and bury it by the side of the Con
federate war general at Lexington,
Va.
As it seems to be determined that
the body will be removed, it is under
stood the the battleship Georgia
will be assigned to bear the remains
for Dungeness to Virginia.
